Westwood Sevcurity Announce what is believed to be the first Chrome finish roller shutter in the UK - 11/12/08
Westwood Security Shutters revolutionary new ground breaking chrome type finish to there roller shutters can be applied to both aluminium and steel to curved and flat surfaces.
This is a alternative to the standard powder coated finish or wet paint this allows the customer to have a unique almost mirror like individual finish.
The Chrome and Gold finishes always the most popular, however we can add colour tints including all 7 pigments Red, Orange, yellow, Green, Blue, Violet and Black.
This process is created by a special formulated base coat offering maximum adhesion and then the special water based colour metal spray with a fine mist of real silver deposits which creates a mirror reflection over the entire based coat surface and finally the clear top coat is applied over the entire reflective surface.
This whole process is much more environmentally friendly than conventional chrome plating and also does not contain any "Hexavalent Chromium" compounds.
After many tests and trials the finish shows great resistance humidity, salt spray and abrasion.
Also the distinctness of the image is almost mirror like.
Generally this offers a tougher finish than the conventional powder coated finishes which are prone to scratches in transit etc Westwood Security Shutters Sales Director Matt Sands says "There is a little premium to pay for this development so it wont be for everybody it is more for the image conscious customer who wants to stand out from the crowd!
