PVC Strip Curtain Fixings

We supply PVC Strip Curtains with a choice of Hook On, Bolt On or Sliging fixings. The primary advantage offered by the three fixing options is that any damaged or scratched PVC strips can be easily replaced.

Hook On System

 The Stainless Steel Hook-on System is the simplest style to fit and is used mainly for smaller applications, pedestrian access, food preparation areas etc.

This system is very easy to use and is completely flexible for a variety of requirements.

Bolt On System

The Aluminum Bolt On System is designed for more heavy duty applications, larger openings and where the use of vehicles, fork lift trucks are being used.

Types of PVC Strip Curtain Available

Clear Standard Grade

Standard grade PVC is the workhorse of the PVC family, from small interior pedestrian doorways to large exterior warehouse doors, with good light transmission.

Temp: +30 Centigrade  to -10 Centigrade

Clear Polar Grade

Ideal for cold store, refrigerated vehicles and freezer rooms etc.

Temp: +25 Centigrade to -40 Centigrade

Double Ribbed Grade

‘Bumper strip’ or ‘anti-scratch’ as it is sometimes known, is an ideal solution for busy fork-lift traffic doorways. The double ribbed PVC strips take the impact from the vehicle/goods, minimising damage to the PVC strip, before maintaining clarity and light transmission.

Perforated Grade

Perforated PVC strip offers all the benefits of clear grade PVC but allows maximum ventilation in and out of the premises. This unique PVC product is only available from Westwood Security Shutters Ltd.

Glowstrip Grade

Glowstrip PVC strip has the same qualities and benefits of clear grade PVC (excluding light transmission) with the added benefits of improved visibility, therefore ideal for fire exits or identifying the edges of doorways. During power cuts our ‘Glowstrip’ will highlight exits due to ‘Glow in the Dark’ properties.

Coloured Grade

Coloured PVC strip is available in standard, ribbed, polar and perforated grades and has a minimum order quantity for bespoke colours of 2500kgs. Stock colours available: Red, Black, Yellow and Grey.

Anti-Static grade

Anti-static PVC strip offers all the same benefits as our standard PVC strip but with the advantage of an anti-static additive, ensuring elimination of any static charge.

Hints for installing PVC Strip Curtain

• Make sure everything is level. Use a spirit level to be sure.
• Secure horizontal top track.
• Angle brackets are universal and need to be tapped into the box section. The brackets can be used in different directions.
• The maximum gap between the angles that fix to the box section is 1100mm.
• The box sections are made extra long/wide and need to be cut on site when the final fixing positions are decided.
• It would be helpful to spray a little WD40 into the tracks of the aluminium rail before locating the bolts in position.
• The bolt fixing plates do not all go on one side. They alternate to allow for overlap.
• The PVC strip curtain goes on last bolting over the predrilled plates.
• The red strip acts as a warning sign, for example indicating where the corners of the building or shutters are.
• Finally when the curtain is in position it is made approx 50mm too long, so with a Stanley knife you can square and straighten the bottom of the curtain for a neat fit.

Please note that we manufacture Single and Twin Skin Lath Fire Rated Roller Shutters tested to Exova Fire and Safety BSEN 1634-1 and providing up to 4 Hours of fire resistance. The Double Skin Insulated Lath offers additional heat radiation protection.
